I'm in friendly feilding today =) This is the little town i lived in between the ages of 7 & 12. Talk about a trip down memory lane!!! Rode in down the railway line, past the "keep feilding beautiful" sign (i won a contest for that once), past a park where there used to be a big swing but is now just grass & a mural, turners giftware shop, the square...everything feels really familiar. Going to head down to my old schools & houses next!

Had a good trip over here. The road from Taupo to Napier was quite dramatic-from rolling green to desert to waterfalls to hot pools on the side of a cliff. A few big hills but fun coming down them!! Spent the weekend in Napier. They have a new hot pool complex right on the beach (i've hardly even missed onsen-so many great hot pools in nz!), went kayaking on the estuary, visited cape kidnappers & a lovely winery, fish & chips on marine parade beach. Then it was back on my bike & spent 3 days riding over to Palmerston North with nights in Havelock North (arataki honey =)), Waipukarau & Daniverke where i met my 3rd fellow tour-cyclist. We're a rare breed it seems! Came over a big hill covered in windmills yesterday arvo to sunny palmy, took the wrong road out of ashurst & ended up in colyton (so many tiny towns around here & definate lack of signage!!). Luckily Antz came & rescued me & all ended well-oh & it turns out it is possible to take the wheel off my bike without taking off the panier racks-yay!

Heading to Wellington this weekend for friends & fireworks. Yay for guy fawkes. Happy halloween-hope you all had a good one.
